About Scholarship

President’s PhD Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship with a monthly stipend for the candidates who are willing to pursue their degree in UK. Imperial College London awards 50 scholarships to international students globally. 

Imperial College London aims to provide higher quality education to diverse people to make a progressive world. Scholarships for the Ph.D. level are highly competitive with strict eligibility criteria. The scholarship also gives opportunities to researchers to do internships and work under brilliant professors to enhance and polish their skills.

Benefits

Imperial College London President’s PhD Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in UK. As it is financing the highest level of education. Besides funding the 50 research students globally President’s PhD scholarship covers all the finances including:

1. The finance will be covered for straight 3.5 years.
2. The tuition fee will be fully funded.
3. A stipend of £25,150 (2024-25 rate) per annum will be provided with accommodation expenses.
4. Consumable funds of £2,000 per year for the 3 years of the degree program.
5. Bespoke event program opportunities will be provided by the graduate school.

Eligibility: 

Ph.D. scholarships are highly competitive. This is one of the reasons that they have strict criteria to meet. Here is the list of eligibility criteria for the Imperial College London President’s PhD Scholarship.

1. Applicants can apply for the scholarship nationally and internationally. There are no regional restrictions. 
2. Candidate must be the highest achiever in the academic record or equivalent to the UK criteria. 
3. Candidates with a standalone Master’s degree must hold a distinction in the academic record.
4. Candidates with multiple Master’s degrees must hold distinction in the relevant Ph.D. degree. 
5. Overseas candidates must determine their grades equivalent to the subject eligibility criteria.
6. The candidate must contact the supervisor in Imperial College London in the concerned academic department who is willing to supervise the candidate. Note that, one supervisor can only supervise one candidate at a time. 

Notable Point: The current PhD candidate cannot apply to this scholarship.  President’s PhD scholarship is only open for new researchers.

Application

To apply at Imperial College London President’s Ph.D. Scholarship 2024 you need to follow this step-by-step guide.

1. There is no proper application form to apply for the scholarship. You need to apply through the online admission portal.
2. Candidates do not need to apply separately for scholarships and admission to college.
3. Candidate must upload personal statement. The first page should be about personal motives and the second page on the research topic plan.
4. Personal statements should be written in the first person. It must be 2000 words.
5. Candidates should select the scholarship in the funding section option. 
6. Every department has different application requirements. Make sure to check the requirement criteria to complete the application form. 

Deadline

Admission through the President’s PhD Scholarship 2024 is open throughout the year. It is divided into three deadlines.

• 6 November 2023: Scholarship announced at the end of January 2024.
• 8 January 2024: Scholarship notified at the end of March 2024.
• 4 March 2024: Scholarship declared at the end of May 2024.
