About Scholarship

Gates Cambridge scholarship was introduced in 2000 from the donations of US$210m from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2001, first-class scholars came in residence. Since then, the Gates Cambridge Scholarship has been awarded to 2000 students from more than 100 countries.

Each year, 80 scholarships are awarded to students two-thirds of the scholarship goes to a Ph.D. D scholars. 25 awards are for the US and 55 of them are granted internationally.

The Gates Cambridge Trust Scholarship aims to provide educational support to students who have the potential to work for the welfare of society. Gates Scholarship is US$210m worth of scholarship. The scholarship is full of funding benefits. Read the list below to have a detailed knowledge of the scholarship.

1. Under the Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2024, you will be granted £20,000 annual allowance.
2. Airfare economy ticket to come to the UK and return ticket as well. The scholarship will also fund the inbound visa charges and health surcharges.
3. Additional academic development funds will be served of £500-£2000.
4. The trust will also grant the family support of £11,604 for one child and £16,548 for two or more children.
5. Maternity and paternity funding will be provided.
6. Funds will be provided for unforeseen difficulties and happening. 

Eligibility Criteria

Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2024 has strict criteria to meet so that only deserving students can avail of it.
Here is a list of eligibility criteria for you to read before applying.

1. Applicant must be an international student.
2. Candidate must have an excellent academic record.
3. International students must apply for a full-time degree course in either its master’s or Ph.D. program.
4. Candidate must prove the reason for choosing a course. 
5. You must only apply in eligible courses.

Documents Required

• 3000-word personal statement.
• Research proposal for Ph.D. applicants.
• 3 reference letters from the official faculty of the last institute.

Application

Gates Cambridge Trust Scholarship 2024 application is an easy process. You need to follow this step-by-step guideline to submit your application. 

1. Go to the university admission portal to apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2024 in the section for international students.
2. Submit your scholarship and admission application separately on the online university admission portal.
3. Candidate must complete the sub-section of the fully funded scholarship from the Gates Cambridge Trust Scholarship.
4. P.hd applicants must submit their research proposal plan. 
5. Applicant must submit all the supporting documents carefully to complete the form. 

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Gates Cambridge Trust Scholarship 2024 for international students is  5 December 2023 or 4 January 2024. (depending upon the selected course)
